Team ECCO Sea Base Program

What is Sea Base?

 

Our Sea Base program is a program that we have specially designed for a group learning environment. Educators have a choice of one of three programs for their students to take part in. 

 

Available Times: Tuesday: 9am-4pm 

Wednesday-Friday: 8:30am-11am

Other times may be available by request. 


 

We have a basic request intake form that teachers must complete before the Sea Base program. 

 

Teachers receive vocabulary and inquiry sheets for visit preparation. Students will leave the program with post-visit activity sheet with each program.

Sea Base 101:

  •  50-minute visit 
  • 10-30 participants (extra people, $3 per person, 10 additional maximum)
  • Includes aquarium admission, fish scavenger hunt, discussion, creature feature and surprise animal program 

Sea Base 202:

  • 1.5-hour visit
  • Extended focus program 
  • Minimum 12 students
  • Maximum 30 total in attendance
  • Includes visit, touch tank, scavenger hunt, creature feature and focus program on specific topic of interest                                  

Sea Base 303:

  • 2-hour visit 
  • Extended focus program
  • Minimum 12
  • Maximum 30 total in attendance
  • Includes visit, touch tank, scavenger hunt, creature feature and focus program on specific topic of interest                                  

Topics of Interest:

Marine invertebrates, sharks/rays, turtle rescue, fish adaptations, basic turtle, fish ID, water quality, coral reef ecology, sea grass ecology, Lion fish/invasive species.
